COLOR MY WORLD
Sometimes we find shades of gray
when grief comes to our lives...
and other times we see the sun
shine golden in our eyes.
It all depends on how we view
the world that God has made...
it takes some effort on our part,
to lose those "shades of gray."
Lord, give me eyes to see my world
in lovely shades of GREEN...
reflecting growth within my heart
and blessings unforeseen.
Let me see the color RED
to remind me of Your blood...
and how You died to set me free,
a sacrifice of love.
And when I see the color WHITE,
let me see Your righteousness...
the truest symbol of Your grace
and the purest color yet.
Lord, color my world and let me see
each symbol You have made...
all reflections of Your love,
each one a perfect shade.

TOO BUSY FOR JESUS
The dream became clearer as I tossed around in my
sleep.
The Lord was calling my name over and over, so loud and deep.
The voice surrounded my bedroom, I stared within.
He said, "This is Jesus, my friend, where have you been?"
He said, "My dear brethren, what have you done today,
to walk in my footsteps and try not to stray?
Not once have you been humble on your knees in prayer.
Son, you must shine my light and show others you care."
I saw you yesterday, only glancing at the man on the road.
He was having car trouble and needed to be towed.
You said, "I can't stop or I will surely be late,
someone will help him soon, he'll just have to wait."
"One of your workers has been sick and almost died.
This lady is a widow and food for five she must buy.
You have plenty and you're never hungry when you go to bed.
Why are you so greedy and trying to get ahead?
"What if I had been too busy to die on the cross?
You would never walk the streets of gold, your soul would be lost.
What if I had been too busy to hear you that day,
when you asked forgiveness and earnestly prayed?"
I awoke from my deep slumber and my heart felt content.
I thanked the Lord on my knees, for the message He had sent.
So many times, I take for granted the small things He has given to me.
Without the Lord in my life each day, I am blind and cannot see.

THE GREATEST BEACON
The light in a lighthouse is constant and bright,
And it shows all the ships where to go.
But that light's only needed in darkness and night,
And it won't last forever, you know.
The light of my Savior is always a guide,
And it won't leave a person in doubt
As to salvation's pathway. I say this with pride:
Jesus' light will not ever go out.
The light in a traffic light works night and day,
And it helps you--when you're within range,
But you can't see that light if you're too far away,
And a traffic light's certain to change.
The light of my Jesus is never so far
Out of sight that it cannot be reached.
And it's always the same. You can reach Jesus' star
If you follow His word as it's preached.
The light of the sun is a beautiful thing
For the crops and the birds and the trees.
But the great heat the sun will unfailingly bring
Won't refresh those who fancy a breeze.
The light of the Lord is a blessing to all
Whether Mexican, Jewish, or Greek.
And if we would but hearken to Jesus' call
We would know it's the light that we seek.
If all mankind would listen to Jesus' word
We would have a tremendous rebirth.
For His name is the greatest that's ever been heard...
Christ is truly the light of the earth.

THE OCEAN
On a calm, moonlit night, the sea is exquisite;
and the cool night air is a moist breeze
blowing from across the waves.
The lulling of the sea clears the cobwebs in my head
and I can think freely.
As I stand on the pier and place my hands on the railing,
I feel the power of the sea as the wood vibrates from the wind and the
waves.
I see the reflection of the heavens in the waves
as the moon shines down on the sea;
and I could stand here for hours, never moving.
And although I stand alone at the railing,
I feel God's presence all about me.
I feel his power in the sea as it gently sways the pier.
The vastness of this mighty creation does not frighten me,
but helps me to realize how awesome is God's power.
I close my eyes, and the world about me ceases to exist.
There is nothing but God's power flowing into me
through the railing, calming me,
and releasing all of the tension trapped inside me.
As I open my eyes, I feel no sadness,
only a special peace welling up from deep within my heart and soul.
And as I start back towards the beach,
I say a little prayer of thanks to God above.
Then I re-enter the world with a content smile
and the knowledge that there is hope for the future.

JESUS PRAYED INSIDE A GARDEN
Jesus prayed inside a garden
where the roses were in bloom...
His heart was slowly breaking
and His life was ending soon.
He wanted His disciples
to understand His Father's plan
but they were narrow in their thinking
and they could not understand.
Jesus cried out to His Father
in the garden late at night...
& in the course of several hours,
the world would know His plight.
When Jesus left the garden
He was nailed upon a cross...
and there He suffered terribly,
for us, He paid the cost.
But God supplied an ending
that would give us hope again...
His only Son had risen
and forgave the world of sin.
Now when I'm in my garden
as Jesus was that day...
I sit among the roses
and I bow my head to pray.
"Thank You precious Jesus
for what You have done for me...
You prayed inside a garden
then you died to set me free."

EVERYONE SHOULD PRAISE THE LORD
Everyone should praise the Lord;
Because of His creative hand;
He has made the seas, the sky, and land,
The mountains tall, the blowing sand;
The green trees for a restful shade;
The tall grass with its rustling blades;
These are among the things He made;
Everyone should praise the Lord!
Everyone should praise the Lord!
Because of golden fields of grain,
And abundant showers of refreshing rain,
And cooling winds that sweep the plain,
And sunsets emblazoned red and gold,
And fields of flowers to behold,
And the marvel of the falling snow;
Everyone should praise the Lord.
Everyone should praise the Lord!
Because He gave His only Son
To die for the sins of everyone;
He arose from the dead with the victory won.
And He ascended to His Father's throne
To intercede for all His own
That we might reach that heavenly home;
Everyone should praise the Lord!
Everyone should praise the Lord!
For He'll bring evil to an end;
The trumpet will sound, and He'll descend;
He's coming back to get His friends;
Then the wicked world will weep and moan
When all the Christians here are gone,
And they are left here all alone;
Everyone should praise the Lord!
Everyone should Praise the Lord!
Just for supplying our every need,
And for family love that is so sweet,
And for Christian friends who are so neat;
For a place among the heavenly fold,
And that we'll walk those streets of gold,
And the face of Jesus to behold;
Everyone should praise the Lord!

TO BE A HAPPY CHRISTIAN
To be a happy Christian
There's things that you must do,
You must pray, and then believe
That God will see you through.
You must believe with all your heart
That God is always there,
Any time, any place
You'll reach him through prayer.
Never doubt his love for you
He gave his only son,
That you might have eternal life
And wear the Crown you've won.
Yes to be a happy Christian
There's things that you must do,
Let the sinners all over the world
See Jesus in you.
Tell the lost how he died
That they themselves might live,
And share with them the joy above
That God to them can give.
If you believe with all your heart
That God's in Heaven above,
Then have no fears, have no doubts
Just fill your heart with love.
Place your life with in his hands
He's your dearest friend,
He'll give you peace, joy, and love
And happiness he'll send.

THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB
There's a picture in my mind
of a human sacrifice
a gentle lamb of God
who died to pay our price.
His hands and feet were nailed
upon a rugged cross
forever to be hailed
as Savior to the lost.
No other true event
has ever matched that day
as Jesus slowly died
to His Father, He would pray.
?Please forgive them Father,
they know not what they do
I'll gladly pay the price
for what they've done to You.
What a loyal friend
what a debt that He would pay
He had a choice to make
and He chose to die that day.
How do we acknowledge
such a sacrificial gift?
by living every day
in His love and righteousness.

THERE'S A PLACE MORE DEAR
THAN EARTH TO ME
There's a place more dear than earth to me
That the eyes of faith help me to see;
Old age creeps on and eyes grow dim,
And yet more clearly I'm seeing Him
Who opened heaven's gates for me
That I might gain the place faith sees;
That Saviour soon shall call my name,
And I, at last that place shall gain.
Faith's eyes sees those gone on before;
They beacon me to heaven's shore.
Loved ones await that glorious day
That I'll drop this flesh and fly away
To join them in reunion rare
In that bright place of beauty fair.
Each passing day earth dimmer grows
As the light of heaven brighter glows.
More flowers adorn its fields and lands
With colors now unknown to man;
Such peace and beauty all around;
Not one sad heart can there be found.
And no fading of its glory rare;
Its Maker placed Eternity there;
When ten million years have come and gone,
Still you and I will call it home.
Yes, there's a place more dear to me
Than this old world that I can see;
With the eyes of faith I see it all,
And someday soon I'll hear my call;
What Joy and Glory waits in that land
When Jesus comes and takes my hand
And leads me down those golden streets
Of that place more dear than earth to me.

A CHRISTIAN LIFE
There is peace and calmness
About a Christian's life,
They seem so unafraid to meet
Life's problems, needs, and strife.
They have assurance in their heart
That God is always there,
They know that they can reach him
Any time in prayer.
When times get hard and ways get rough
And all is lost around,
A Christian stands firm in faith
That God won't let him down.
They know that God will see them
Through this world below,
And that He's with them every day
Where ever they may go.
Yes, there's peace and calmness
About a Christian's life,
One who's really trying
To live his life upright.
They know that God's preparing
A home in Heaven above,
Where all is joy and gladness
And all is joined in love.
If you want joy and peace
Give God your heart today,
And you'll have him within your soul
As you go on your way.

WHERE HAPPINESS IS FOUND
People search for happiness
in the superficial things
instead of reaching higher
to the blessings God can bring.
It becomes a vicious cycle
with heartache to behold
but God can change the pattern
and make happiness unfold.
This world stands still for no one
we can't alter a tearful past
but we can choose to face the future
with happiness, at last.
God supplies us with the answers
that we've searched for, here and there
the years of total failure
are erased with a single prayer.
Lord, forgive me of my sinning
and live in my heart to stay
I want to start all over
I want to live my life, Your way.

GOD'S WAY
God needs your help
All across this great land;
Everywhere you turn there's evil;
Good will in not given or in demand.
We all need to get back to basics,
Live God's way, and practice the golden rule;
For every day there's a major crisis,
And they have taken prayer out of school.
To overcome our present problem,
Take a look at yourself first;
Then encourage your love ones to improve,
Their actions from their best to their worst.
I know it's not easy to change,
With troubles just about everywhere;
If you live your life God's way,
They know you really care.

NOT US, BUT CHRIST WITHIN US
Not us, but Christ within us,
all glory to His name
without His grace and mercy
our lives would be in vain.
Nothing we accomplish
is done by man alone
not us, but Christ within us
all praise is His alone.
We strive for great successes
but fail until we see
not us, but Christ within us
He works through you and me.

THE VALUE OF A CHRISTIAN TEACHER
God knows a Christian teacher
is worth more than words can say...
each one is sent from heaven,
to bring forth a brighter day.
Our teachers serve with wisdom,
and a strength from up above...
teaching kids who thirst for knowledge,
that all blessings come from God.
Lord, thank you for our teachers,
who show our children how to pray...
send forth your Holy Spirit,
to guide them through each day.
And every time the school bell rings,
may an angel hover near...
to protect our precious children
whom God has placed within your care.
